Know the way
Old wooden shipwrecks embedded in the sand on the Outer Banks beaches appear, disappear, then reappear with the vicissitudes of storm and tide.
“Everything from just the backbone of the wreck to the frames of the ship have broken through the sand over the years, giving onlookers a glimpse of the past.” – Michelle Wagner
Perpetual Presence
Kindred impression
Open to influence
Cordial virtue
Every morning is another opportunity to explore a personal relationship with change, manifest in the flow of time.
“In order to manipulate reality, intellect breaks it down into inert parts, which can then be re-assembled freely.” – Anne-Sophie Moreau
Enigmatically Charged
Animate forms
Expansion reached
Evolution movement
Enveloping fog has a tendency to visually simplify as it unifies variance. Such vapor adapts itself to the vicissitude of circumstance.
“But it is one thing to recognize that outer circumstances are forces evolution must reckon with, another to claim that they are the directing causes of evolution.” – Henri Bergson
Energy Extension
Manifesting continuum
Activity association
Accumulating experience
Expanding visual ideas into new realms of photographic capture, the aesthetic journey endures.
“A spiritual definition of energy could be given as follows: it is that form which the whole manifest universe arises, causal, subtle and physical.” – Stanley Jacobs
Memorial Tower
Shifting dune
Later stabilized
Kill devil hill
Commemorating the achievement of the Wright brothers, a 60-foot-tall granite monument was constructed atop the 90-foot-tall Kill Devil Hill sand dune. To secure the sandy foundation, bermuda grass was planted on the shifting dune and the surrounding area with fertilizer spread throughout. When is human intervention in natural processes acceptable?
“If we all worked on the assumption that what is accepted as true is really true, there would be little hope of advance.” – Orville Wright
